What I used to do in other software is copying two lines with the proper distance and pasting and moving them over and over, but that is also quite annoying in Krita since they are pasted as new layers. There is the measure tool, but that doesn't really help when it comes to more than finding the center. So far I tried grids, but they only work along the x or y axis, not really well on diagonals, and you need to input exact coordinates, they can't calculate the ratios for you. After losing the impulse to recreationally paint for nearly two years, I feel inspiration without intimidation.I'm looking for a way to evenly divide some distances in a drawing into equal subdivisions, but I'm at loss what tool I could use for that. I think digital painters everywhere need a break from the nonintuitive, gatekept, invasive, domineering cashgrab that is Adobe Creative Cloud. The curriculum of my university design program is completely monopolized by Adobe Systems Incorporated, and as I emerge from my personal passion into this career field, all I want for myself is the alternative software literacy to be free of that predatory "industry standard." Forcing myself to use Photoshop for digital painting was like sticking my balls in a vice grip and telling myself it was for my health. That was my hope in downloading this, and I'm glad the hope was confirmed.Īlthough I realize that I could have just gone for the free version, it feels important to me to support one of Adobe's direct competitors.
My experience with Krita was 100 times better than with Photoshop within the first fifteen minutes that I spent doodling and exploring the interface.
